Detroit: Juvenile Lifer Rally for Justice

The rally calls on county prosecutors to stop delaying the resentencing of over three hundred juvenile lifers who are currently serving an unconstitutional sentence in Michigan.

The family of Darren Cross, incarcerated at the Thumb Correctional Facility, spoke at the rally by phone. He is now 50 and has served 31 years in prison so far. He stressed the importance of justice for all prisoners including those serving long sentences such as parolable life, which frequently becomes natural life, since Michigan Gov. John Engler’s parole board declared “life means life.”
